La Tue Dulce Vita

You may have the universe if I may have Italy.

—Giuseppe Verdi

Verdi knew about his beloved homeland was that it has no equal. This is the land of la dolce vita, and at the heart of it all are the verdant hills and endless vineyards of its most celebrated region, Tuscany, where unparalleled wine makes up the lifeblood of the country’s identity.

In conjuring an image of this idyllic countryside, you can easily picture a rustic farmhouse off the beaten path, nestled among olive and cypress trees, surrounded by vineyards and hilltop views of Cortona and Montepulciano. Inside the sun-bleached stone and ancient brick façade is a working winery dating back to 1865, where its grapes produce award-winning  wine. Beyond that is a classic Tuscan villa reimagined for the 21st century, complete with five-star rooms, a full-service spa, and alfresco dinners with local friends at sunset served at our Michelan Star restaurant or patio.

While this may seem like a dream life, at Fattoria Svetoni this is our way of life and one we long to share!

Estate History

La famiglia è la patria del cuore — Family is where the heart is.

—Italian proverb

At the heart of Fattoria Svetoni is “The Farmhouse.” Not only is it the most well-known farmhouse in Montepulciano, it’s the oldest. Commissioned by Pietro Leopoldo, The Grand Duke of Tuscany and Holy Roman Emperor, the farmhouse stands as a historic remnant from one of Italy’s most well-known “enlightened monarchs.”

As a visitor at Fattoria Svetoni, you’ll experience not only the storied history of the breathtaking town of Montepulciano, but also the heritage of one of Italy's most revered wines and estates. This is immersion travel, where with each visit and each sip, you’ll connect more deeply to the Tuscan way of life.
